Think Before you Click

Have you received an email from the ATO asking for your personal details or offering you a refund?

We have received a number of reports of scam emails appearing as though they are from the ATO; these may contain malware or request personal information. The ATO do not request your personal information via email.

Clicking on a link or opening an attachment may install software that gives scammers access to your computer or block you from accessing your files until you pay a ransom. Paying the ransom does not guarantee you will get access to your files or that scammers will not demand more money in the future.

If you’re unsure that the email is from the ATO please call the ATO on 1800 008 540 or our office.
